Jennifer collier Inspiration

I was inspired by Jennifer Collier because i liked how she did pleats with paper.

Inspirations

Yasmin's Waist Coat
 Primary Research
Side Zip Inspired by Yasmin's Waist Coat.
The flowers i have done connect with the flowers below.
The Shape and the ruffled edges go well with my outcome.

Hannah Stouffer Inspiration

I achieved this effect by dying the hessian with different colours. This relates to hannah stouffer because some of her work included strokes of paint and I have used similar colours as she uses. I managed to get the flowers pop up by embroidering on the same place.

Comparing different materials

I tried different materials using crochet.
I found that some materials frayed more than others.

Heading to Final Weave Outcome 1

Daniell recommend me to do a weave on the loom. I picked certain colours that complimented the gray waist coat.

The weave had some yarn sticking out. To give it a neat finish I stiched the yarn inside.

Comparing Flowers

I first did the flower using a napkin and embroideried on top of it
so that it would stay in place.

On a cotton i used the same technique.
I found out that the napkin was easier to fold
and hand more grip than the fabric.

First Embroidery Design

I embellished the cape by hand stiching the holes in the cape.

these flowers are inspired by hand crochet. I did 1 row of crochet and rolled it up and then hand stiched it as i went along.

First Weave Design

This type of weave is inspired
from the cardboard weave.

Skirt on Doll

I decided to dress the doll with the samples i made so that it would be easier to visualize how it would be worn.

I pleated the bubble wrap by doing a box pleat and
stitching the pleats together.

I used fabric because I am interested in tailoring and my tutor, Claire, gave me an advice to use fabric. I researched Jennet cooper, because she uses fabric. One of her work in particular liked was a bag made out of jeans and other fabric.
Jennifer collier and Annette Meyer also used pleats for her paper dresses.

Fabric Manipulation

I pleated the fabric from one side and from the other side i weaved through a thick rubber band. I did this by cutting smalls holes in the fabric so that the rubber band pass through.

I used pleats because Jennifer Collier uses pleats
for the dresses she makes out of paper and I got
inspired by work.

Experimenting with Paper

I found working with normal paper such as a4 paper was easier because it could easily be folded. whereas the card was more harder to work with.
